WE'RE KYLE AND MADDI

Two homebodies born, raised, and married in West Michigan. We believe in the beauty and sanctity of marriage, and it’s our joy to serve our couples by creating them a wedding film that captures every precious memory from the most important day of their love story.

In 2018, I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in film and video production, but my passion for filmmaking goes all the way back to making ridiculous YouTube videos with my friends in 9th grade. I met Maddi in the fall of 2020 and married her in early 2022. Planning our wedding was a lot of work and involved a lot of important decision-making.

I filmed our wedding ceremony because I hadn’t really thought about hiring a videographer. While we enjoy rewatching that part of our day, I realized I could’ve had so many more special moments captured had I hired someone to make us a wedding film. Because of how much I wished I had gotten one, I decided to start Nelson Captures for all of the happy couples wanting to relive all of the fun and emotion of their wedding day.

HOW IT FELT

Time is fleeting. You’ve been planning your weddings for months, and then it’s over in a blink. We know what it’s like, because we’ve been there. You only have so much to hold onto after the day is over, and the memories are the most important. With a wedding film, you can see more than a frame of a memory, but you can relive an entire moment and remember how it felt to be there.
